The Anderson Virtual Lab (VLAB) allows students to access Anderson computing resources from any computer system that has an internet connection available.

The VLAB will provide students with the ability to use Anderson school computer resources from any location where an internet connection is available. For example, if a student does not have Microsoft Office installed on his or her machine, the student will be able to log in to the VLAB and use any of the Microsoft Office applications that they had previously used in the computer lab. A big advantage to using the Anderson VLAB is that students are no longer limited by the computer lab hours of operation. Lab computing resources will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

Part of the Anderson Wireless initiative suggests that each student have access to a wireless internet enabled laptop. Having a wireless internet enabled laptop will allow the student to access VLAB resources from any location on the UNM campus and anywhere a wireless internet connection is available.

The following is a listing of some of the applications that will be made available when you log in to one of the virtual computer lab machines:

  • Business Plan Pro
  • Microsoft Office 2003 Professional, including Visio 2003, and Project 2003
  • Oracle JDeveloper
  • Oracle Application Developer, SQL+
  • SPSS for Windows
  • SSH Secure File Transfer for saving your work
  • VMWare
